Coin Collecting For Beginners – Intro To Coin Collecting 101: What You Need To Know To Start Coins

WATCH THIS VIDEO BEFORE YOU START COLLECTING COINS! This is an informational resource that should give you a brief overview of everything there is to know for a starting coin collector. It’s not structured with a lot of presentations, more just like a conversation that jumps around from topic to topic to provide what you need to know to start out. Very brief treatment of world/ancient coins and paper money (I really don’t know much at all about ancients) but the main focus is on US coinage. Mint marks, different iconic coins (mainly the recent stuff from the 19th century with a few weird denominations), grading, places to buy and sell coins, understanding the third party grading companies, different strike types, different problem coin features, and general tips for a newbie.
